A B O U T
Chelsie Pennello is a Chinese American filmmaker based in Washington, DC. Her work has played at over 50 festivals in North America over the last four years. Most notably, her dark comedy short, Cherry-Colored Funk, had its New York premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2025. She has enjoyed making stories about losers in her last two short films and is particularly proud of the character of Roberto Ferrari. She is currently in development on her feature film debut, a coming-of-age horror film set on the beach, which she took to Tribeca for its 2026 Creator's Market.
